Ways to Vote

The deadline to register to vote or make changes to your voter registration is April 14, 2025 at 5:00pm. The Gloucester City Clerk’s Office is open Monday -Wednesday 8:30am to 4:00pm, Thursday 8:30am to 6:30pm, and Friday 8:30am to 12:30pm for voter registration and registration changes. In person on April 24 at your local voting place.

Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Vote by Mail or Absentee Voting

If you’re unable to vote in person on any of the dates listed above, you can Vote by Mail or Absentee ballot.  The deadline to request a Vote by Mail or Absentee ballot is Thursday, April 17 at 5:00 PM. The deadline to return a Vote by Mail or Absentee ballot is Election Day, Thursday April 24 at 8:00 PM. Here’s how:

  1. Fill out an application – click on an option below:
  2. Submit, hand deliver, or mail in your application to the City Clerk’s office, 9 Dale Ave, Gloucester, MA 01930, ensuring it is received no later than April 17 at 5:00 PM. After confirming your voter registration, the City Clerk will mail you a ballot.
  3. Make sure the Gloucester City Clerk’s office receives your completed ballot by Election Day, April 24 at 5:00 PM, by mail or hand delivery to the City Clerk’s Office, or by using the drop box located at the Warren St. entrance to City Hall.
